Yes, you could have that fixed later. Usually at age 42, I would recommend leaving a small amount of short-sight in one eye for a mini blended vision. This would still give you excellent vision, but delay the need for reading glasses for a few years which is very helpful.

If I had laser surgery now to correct short-sight, either by Lasik or lasek - would I be able to have the old-sight correction later on?  I am 42 and just starting to notice that I might need varifolcals soon.
