I had a consultation for laser eye surgery a few days ago at the Acuvision clinic in London. Both my eyes are around +7 with high astigmatism and nystagmus, but they still said they would do the surgery. They said there aren’t many people who would be unsuitable.

i have looked into laser eye surgery my left eye is +8 and right is +6.75, I was informed that i cannot have laser eye treatment as my vision is too bad, After watching the video i feel my eye sight is much better than the presenters so how is it that he can have it done and i cannot.

    • Dave Allamby says:

      Hi Francis
Unlike the presenter who was short-sighted, you have long-sight which is much harder to treat at high levels. Most clinic do not treat more than around +3, and the highest rating on any laser is +6. So at +6.75 and +8 you even exceed that and so are beyond what laser eye surgery can correct for long-sight.
      Regards
      Dave
