Ultralase laser eye surgery prices go up even further

Ultralase laser eye surgery chain has increased prices again. They recently moved to only offering blade free LASIK using the American Intralase femtosecond laser, removing the cheaper option of keratome LASIK.

Ultralase laser eye clinics price for Intralase LASIK including the upgrade for wavefront based correction is now £1,945 per eye.

Private equity company 3i recently paid a whopping £174 million to purchase Ultralase (read the blog post here) so perhaps they would like to start getting some money back…? Just a thought.

I want to know about post lasik ectasia. I want to get Lasik but the fear of ectasia is holding me back from Lasik. I need -3.00 correction for both eyes with -1.00 astigmatism in left eye. My corneal thickness is 557 (right) 560 (left) microns. IOP 18

    • Dave Allamby says:

Myopic, the risk is linked to the appearance and shape of your corneas, seen on the ‘topography’ scans taken at the consultation. Your doctor can discuss the risks based upon your own scans in more detail, so ask to meet with your surgeon to discuss this. Regards, David

    Hi Dave

I am going away in 4 weeks time.
If I came to london and stayed how many visits/days would I need to stay ?

    Thanks
    Brian

      hi Brian
You could come this week as I am operating on Wed and Thurs. You could, for example, come on Wednesday and have your consultation in the afternoon, treatment on Thursday and check up Friday morning before traveling home that same day. You could see my optom in Cheshire the following week. My team can help arrange a local hotel near the clinic, with discount through an arrangement as our patient, on Monday. Either call in on 0845 5000 500 or let me know if you want me to email you privately and let me have your phone number that way, rather than on the blog! Could you let me know your age also pls.
      Best regards
      Dave

    Hi Mr. Dave Allamby

I recently had a consultation with Ultralase in manchester.
They have quoted nearly £4000 for Lasik wavefront on both eyes.
My perscription is +3.00 for both eyes.
How much does this procedure cost at Focus ?
Would I be able to travel to Focus and how soon could the procedure be done ?
What are the advantages of Focus over Ultralase ?

    Thanks
    Brian
